DPVA Announces Senator Amy Klobuchar to speak at annual Blue Commonwealth Gala
Senator Amy Klobuchar confirmed as speaker at DPVA Blue Commonwealth Gala
The Democratic Party of Virginia today announced that United States Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) will be a featured speaker at the DPVA’s signature annual event, the Blue Commonwealth Gala, which will be held on the evening of Saturday, June 15th, at the historic Richmond Main Street Station. She joins Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana as Democratic presidential candidates confirmed to appear at the event.
Last year’s Blue Commonwealth Gala, the first time the event was held at Richmond’s Main Street Station, had an attendance of 1,500 people — which is expected to be surpassed this year.
“This is going to be a big night. We are so excited that Senator Klobuchar will join us in our fight to flip both chambers of the Virginia General Assembly. Not only can Senator Klobuchar tell us about how to win in the type of districts we will need to be successful this November, she is also an electric speaker with an amazing story. We are so grateful the Senator will be with us in Richmond on June 15th.”

First Congressional District Democrats Brunch
On Sunday, June 16 in Richmond (the morning after the Blue Commonwealth Dinner), our committee will be hosting the 1st CD Democrats Brunch to Support Local Committees. Our keynote speaker will be Delegate Danica Roem and will feature comedy from Fred Mckinnon!
The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise funds to support your local committees here in CD1. Many committees here in our district are robust and are doing well, while many more are still in the process building themselves up. Our Democratic Party is strong when we work everywhere. Our 1st CD Committee wants to help ensure that every local committee in CD1 has the resources it needs to succeed. We are hoping this fundraiser will be one step in getting to that goal.
Below are the details for our fundraiser. The location is the Delta Hotel in Richmond, which also happens to be the site of the DPVA room block for the Blue Commonwealth Dinner the night before. We are making it as easy as possible for our fellow Democrats to show up the next morning!
