VA Demo Memo Weekly Update: 20 Days to Election Day!
Volunteers in VA05 were pumped up on Sunday as DPVA Chairwoman Susan Swecker, Leslie Cockburn, Olivia Wilde, and Jason Sudeikis canvassed in Charlottesville.
The Washington Post strongly endorses Senator Kaine.
Senator Kaine “is a credit to Virginia and to the Senate. Mr. Stewart, who has smeared “establishment pukes” of his own party and made good on his promise to run a “vicious” campaign for the Senate, is a disgrace. We endorse Mr. Kaine.”
See the powerful closing remarks from Abigail Spanberger’s virtuoso performance during her VA07 debate victory over Dave Brat.
Virginia Democrats dominate fundraising heading into crucial 2018 midterms.
With the November midterm elections just weeks away, Virginia Democrats — at the statewide, congressional, and party level — crushed their Republican counterparts in Quarter 3 funds raised and hold significant leads in cash on hand.
The Democratic Party of Virginia holds an over 32:1 cash on hand advantage over the Republican Party of Virginia, Senator Tim Kaine had over 7 times as much cash on hand as Corey Stewart, and all four Democrat challengers hold a cash advantage in what have been rated Virginia’s most competitive Congressional races.
The Washington Post endorses Jennifer Wexton.
After endorsing Barbara Comstock in 2016, the Post stated, “Unfortunately, her promise has turned to dust; on critical issues, she has been a reliable, often unquestioning foot soldier in the president’s ranks of Republican loyalists. That disappointment, and the clear and convincing competence of her Democratic rival, state Sen. Jennifer Wexton, inform our decision this year to support Ms. Wexton.”
Virginia Democrats are proud of the female veterans and federal agents in this powerful new campaign video. Virginia is home to two of these amazing women running for Congress: Abigail Spanberger and Elaine Luria.
Watch Jennifer Lewis’ first TV ad, ‘Trust and Independence’.
Meet Vangie Williams, one of the 18 black women running for a seat in Congress.
“Lavangelene “Vangie” Williams says she is a strategic planner, mother and professional problem solver. A self-made woman who has overcome insurmountable odds, Williams is a public servant who solves problems for our federal government. A real-world professional with 30 years of experience, she is not a career politician who will put corporate interests above people. William currently works full time for a major government contractor as a strategic planner/senior project control principal.”
Next Week: Anthony Flaccavento (VA09) will reach his ONE HUNDREDTH Town Hall!
